Nikita Kavryzhkin begins his work on form by seeking atmosphere – an invisible presence that lends emotional weight. He is interested in how materials, proportions, and composition evoke a feeling, even before a thought arises; how silence and tension can be inscribed into the very substance of a work. He draws on the atmosphere of the church and the grandeur of sacred architecture, perceived outside the context of Christian tradition.

Kavryzhkin uses stone as a medium of stillness and silence, making use of its cool beauty. He employs symmetry. He creates small, architectural forms whose centre holds an emptiness. He invites the viewer to experience a presence that is restrained yet contemplative. Here, narrative emerges from silence, and “absence” is not a lack but a pause — a point of focused attention. From this interplay arise intimate structures: both close and distant. Quiet forms that breathe and sustain presence.

He is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Prize of the Gallery of Art in Legnica at the 32nd International Jewellery Competition Empathy (2024).
