In my opinion… is a presentation exceptional in many ways, different from those that can be usually seen in art galleries, where the aesthetic value, form and functionality are of paramount importance, while the content is of relatively little importance. Here the authors, through jewellery or objects, express their opinions on various topics, from politics and social issues to interpersonal relations and subjective reactions to various phenomena.
From the very beginning he organizers' assumption was that presented objects should convey a clear message. Therefore, each of works has a title, some of them are also accompanied by a longer or shorter commentary from the author. Thanks to this, the intentions and feelings expressed in the works are clear, provoke emotional and intellectual response in viewers, initiate communication between the object, its creator and the viewer.
The idea of organizing this kind of exhibition was born during meetings in Sandomierz, at the Galeria Otwarta (The Open Gallery) run by Mariusz Pajączkowski. The idea was supported by the late Michał Gradowski and Prof. Irena Huml. Andrzej Sadowski, Andrzej Pacak and Marek Nowaczyk provided organizational and substantive support. The latter, together with Mariusz Pajączkowski, remain the exhibition curators.
The Gallery of Art in Legnica hosts the twelfth edition of the In my opinion… exhibition. Legnica presentation differs from the previous ones due to its open form, thanks to which new objects are presented during each edition. This time the exhibition has been enriched with the works of foreign artists who decided to join the jewellery makers’ discussion.
The finissage of the exhibition takes place on October 25, at 6 p.m. After the official part, there will be a meeting with Marek Nowaczyk, who in 1979 organized the 1st National Review of Gold Forms SILVER in Legnica. The exhibition and the finissage will close the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of Legnica SILVER Festival.

Within the festival we are sharing various groups of exhibitions and individual shows. One of them is bringing a brathe of freshness and inovation, other are focused on the past from which, they are inspired.

Among them it is worth to notice the project of Ewa Effenberg, inspired on palaeolithics beginings of human output (look here: click) or pearls made by method of rapid prototyping (3D printed) by Marta Hryc (look here: click). The rhythm hidden in a necklace
Elisabetta Duprè in her work applies not only the skills she has acquired in Rome and Munich schools of jewellery, but she also makes use of her musical education. Her creation is described as an attempt of entangling the rhythm within tiny pieces of art.
Her subtle necklaces evoke associations with the ticking of a clock or the swinging of a metronome. The authoress crafts her pieces engaging dozens, even hundreds of tiny pieces of silver and gold, small cubes, cups, flat bars, in doing so she enhances the sense of the rhythm, the repetition, but also the illusion of movement. Over 1500 pieces of avant-garde jewellery in Legnica!
Tiny, huge, classic, modern, eliciting wonder or admiration, wearable or thoroughly artistic – these are the features of the opera of the art of jewellery exhibited and hosted by Legnica Jewellery Festival 2015. We have gathered over a thousand and half of these.

Their authors originate from a few dozen countries. We will see them exhibited in as many as nine places in the heart of the city. Some of these works bring associations with the traditional methods of design, linked with jewellery, whereas the others refer to the freshest worldwide trends, surprising with the approach to both the material and the form. Well, jewellery has many a name, and you will realise that in the best way if you visit our exhibitions in person. Feel invited!

Moreover the exhibitions will be accompanied by numerous interdisciplinary events like: the science session “The Boundaries of Global Art”, movies projections, the concert, happenings, etc.

We know artists qualified to the exhibition
of the 24th International Jewellery Competition BOUNDARIES!
On the 9th-10th April jury session of the 24th Legnica International Jewellery Competition BOUNDARIES took place.
Jury constist of: Sławomir Fijałkowski (Poland), Suska Mackert (Germany), Ruudt Peters (The Netherlands), Zuzanna Skalska (Poland/The Netherlands), Gisbert Stach (Germany), Christoph Zellweger (Switzerland) judget 605 works submitted by 337 artists from 42 countries and qualified to the exhibition 45 artists and chose awarded. The list of artists qualified for the exhibition is available here (click). Names of awarded will be anounced during the opening ceremony which takes place on the 16th May 2015. We invite sincerely.

After culmination of Festival!
We invite you to read a report about the Festival and to see photos from culmination, which took place on 16th and 17th of May (to read click here).
During these two days 20 exhibitions were inaugurated, where over 1000 objects of contemporary jewellery and design by 500 artists all over the world were presented. Apart from openings of the exhibitions with participation of authors and curators the session, projections of the films and artistic-happenings in downpour rain occurred. The Gallery of Art in Legnica would like to thank all of our guests from over the world for their presence, great atmosphere and kind words, we have heard.
