PASSION
A mentor’s satisfaction consists in his student’s gratitude which finds expression in unique artistic creation. An artist’s personality is based on the awareness of his inspirations and on personal intuition and sensitivity, whereas knowledge and skill form a practising artist.
The gift of intellectual cooperation with the master, the ability to listen and surrender to the ether of imagination can cause the development of cycles (series) and of individual creativity. In the course of my teaching career I have encountered a great variety of students with strong individualities. To this day, those graduates form the backbone of the community of Polish goldsmiths and I can still distinctly remember their works. Those student works were already the beginning of their creativity and the basis for today's successes and satisfaction.
I am proud to have contributed to the foundation of their mature creativity and to have inspired their interest, excitement and passion for exploration.
Full of these and other passions is my graduate MARCIN TYMIŃSKI – a man with a rich inside, who realises himself in various, often seemingly inconsistent, artistic activities (jewellery and tattoos) as well as in his passion for motorcycles and architecture. It seems that one experience serves the values of other activities and mutual inspiration enriches and completes his creative space. Nickel and blackness of a motorcycle, tattoo detail as a primaeval form of jewellery, experience with ceramics and enamel – all these are forms of art and its functions: sculpture, drawing, painting, jewellery.
The very much developed body of Marcin's work becomes ultimately coherent, with strong author’s expression, individual and recognizable.
And his latest success: GRAND PRIX - AMBERIF DESIGN AWARD 2017 confirms the value of his work. It will become a drive and motivation to create new series (cycles) – motorcycles - and do organizational work for other goldsmiths. He already participates in the organization of creative workshops in Jarocin and works for the Association of Artist Goldsmiths as chairman.
The beauty of his work and the confirmation of my sentences will be found at his next solo exhibition in Legnica in 2017. This stage will surely bring new artistic surprises for us.
The author’s power of influence and his modesty build our sympathy for Marcin as an artist, organizer and simply our friend.
He is fulfilled and open to the future. One is tempted to paraphrase Wojciech Młynarski's saying to describe Marcin: “ART MAKES SENSE, because there is passion and professionalism."

Marcin Tymiński - born in 1972 in Warsaw. Studied jewellery design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. Member of STFZ (Association of Goldsmithing Forms Makers). Co-founder and member of Group Six. Solo exhibitions: Piwnice at Krakowskie Przedmieście, Warsaw, 1999; Galeria Bielak, Kraków, 2004; Exhibition of jewellery and photography, Warsaw, 2004. Participant of many collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad, among others: France, Germany; Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Sweden, Italy.
